Terms and Conditions

By attending the 2024 Leading Reform Summit, you agree to the below terms and conditions

Free event by the Queensland Mental Health Commission

The Leading Reform Summit is a free event hosted by the Queensland Mental Health Commission (the Commission) to support and promote mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and suicide prevention reform initiatives.

As this is a state-funded event, your registration represents a commitment to attend and actively engage with the program. By registering, you acknowledge the resources invested to deliver this event and the importance of each participant’s presence.

Non-attendance
If you are unable to attend, it is requested you notify the organisers as soon as possible. This allows us to reallocate your place to another person and minimise costs and waste of resources dedicated to your attendance, including venue arrangements, catering and materials.
Changes to event
The Commission reserves the right to make alterations to the published event program of the Leading Reform Summit where necessary.
Cancelled/rescheduled event

It is the registrant's responsibility to check whether the Leading Reform Summit has been cancelled or rescheduled, and to confirm the event’s date and time.

In the event the Leading Reform Summit is cancelled or rescheduled, we will use reasonable endeavours to notify registrants using the details provided at the time of registration.  We will also update this website's homepage to reflect any cancellations or rescheduling.

The Commission does not guarantee that registrants will be informed of such cancellation before the date of the Leading Reform Summit. It is the registrant's responsibility to inform the organisers of any changes to the contact number or email address the registrant provides at the time of registering.

The Commission reserves the right to reschedule the Leading Reform Summit without notice and without any liability whatsoever.

Use of details and data protection
The registrant's personal information collected during registration for this event will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009.
Health and safety

Registrants must comply with all relevant statutes, safety announcements and venue
regulations while attending the Leading Reform Summit.

If registrants have any special requirements or concerns about any special effects that may be featured at the Leading Reform Summit, prior notice should be provided at registration.

Special effects may include, without limitation, sound, audio visual or lighting effects.

Code of conduct

Having a great event experience

The Commission wants everyone who attends the Leading Reform Summit to have a great experience. Whether you are attending, speaking or working with or for us, our focus is on creating an environment and experience that everyone can participate in and benefit from. Safety, respect and consideration are integral to this.

All delegates and participants are required to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free environment for all including people with lived experience and diverse gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate during any aspect of this event, including talks, workshops, parties, social media such as X, LinkedIn, Facebook or other online media.

Participants contravening this Code of Conduct may be asked to leave the event at the discretion of the event manager/s. Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

Reporting any concerns

We encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses any behaviour that goes against this
Code of Conduct, or has any other concerns, to report it to the event team so that we can investigate promptly and take any action required

Image Consent

The Commission will request your consent during the registration process for images and recordings of you, as an attendee at the Leading Reform Summit, to be used in promotional materials or other publications, including social media.

Should you provide your consent during the registration process for the 2024 Leading Reform Summit, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions below:

  1. I agree to the State of Queensland, its employees, officers, agents and contractors (“the State”) making images or recordings, whether sound, digital or otherwise, of me (“Images and Recordings”).

  2. I agree to the State:
    1. using, publishing or reproducing the images and recordings in any form (in whole or in part) and by any medium, including but not limited to third party social media websites, newspapers, magazines, brochures, television advertisements, promotional videos, websites, CD-ROM or other multimedia, for public relations, promotions, commercial and advertising purposes (“Promotional Materials”);
    2. retaining or storing the Images and Recordings (including those incorporated into Promotional Materials), in hard copy or digitally.

  3. I acknowledge that publication on websites may mean that the Images and Recordings are sent overseas, and I agree to that transfer.

  4. I agree that the rights granted to the State under clause 2 of this Image Consent Form are perpetual and that I will not receive any payment, royalty or other consideration (whether monetary or otherwise) from the State in connection with the
    making, use or storage of the Images and Recordings.

  5. I agree to the State collecting, storing, handling, accessing, managing, transferring,
    using and disclosing personal information about me, including but not limited to my name, details and image, in connection with the Images and Recordings in order to promote the QMHC Leading Reform Summit.

  6. I acknowledge and agree that any Promotional Materials which refer to me and the subjects, expressly or by implication, are, at the date of publication, made in good faith and are not intended to defame or offend me or the subjects or bring me or the subjects into disrepute.

  7. I agree that the State is the owner of the copyright in the Images and Recordings and
    the physical Images and Recordings
